Hi

Actually you can do upper and lower case with good old five level code. 
If you simply use the 00000 combination as a shift then you can have an 
all lower case setup that also prints just fine on a "normal" machine. 
If you take a look at the coding in PSK-31 it's a lot closer to a five 
level / multiple shift system than it is to ASCII (at least in bit 
density).
