[GreenKeys] The Potential for Our Autostart Net

I have been thinking about the potential our Autostart Net could have
for RTTY. About seven years ago, there was a rebirth of AM in Ham
radio, a mode that had long been considered dead. Today, there is tons
of AM activity on the bands with many hams operating vintage AM
stations. The mode is alive and well. It just took someone to get it
going again.
I think our efforts for the Irv Hoff, W6FFC Memorial Autostart Net,
could do the same thing for RTTY if we publisize it enough. While
Greenkeys will remain our primary intenet communications site, I've been
thinking about setting up a webpage for The net, no mailing list. On
the web page would be a brief memorial to Irv and some pictures of him
(I have several). Also, a description of what we are attempting to do
with the net (insure the continued use and practice of RTTY with
mechanical teletype machines). We could also include descriptions of
the protocols to be used on the net.
But one thing that I think would really be neat and I have seen it done
for other "groups" such as the SSB gang on 3875, is to have a section on
the web page with pictures of the various operators and listeners with
their equipment who frequent the net. It is always nice to be able to
put a face with a name and fun to see other peoples' stations. I will
cover hosting and development of the web page myself but I am open to
suggestions as to content, etc. If you have a picture of yourself and
your operating position, please send it to me via email and I will start
collecting them for the eventual website.
