All,

We have had snow and freezing temperatures the last couple of days 
and I have not yet completed preparations to leave for San Diego.  I 
will be leaving this coming Saturday instead of tomorrow.  So instead 
of arriving the evening of Tuesday the 23rd, I will most likely be 
arriving Wednesday night, the 24th.

With westerly headwinds and towing a loaded trailer my schedule may 
slip even further.  I have my PowerBook and cellphone with me so I 
will try to communicate once in a while.  I have also decided not to 
go as far south as originally planned to cut about 200 or more miles 
off the trip.   I plan on taking the traditional old Route 66, now 
Route 55 / 40 / 44, etc. from Illinois to Southern California.

I probably will be returning in late April or early May.  Depending 
on the weather forecast I may take the northern route through Utah 
and Colorado.  Only time will tell.  I ask that you wish me a safe 
and productive trip.
