Greenkeyers,

I got one of the Dovetrons and have just printed off the "Selection Guide"
so I can figure out what bits and features are inside the thing. If mine
has the same setup as reported today on the list, it has the following
things installed (explanations in parentheses are mine taken from the
Selection Guide.)

2 LCO-100 boards (both of which had shaken loose in shipment).
(Linear Channel Oscillator - permits the terminal unit to cover a range
of input audio frequencies of 300 Hz to 3000 Hz. Note: I think it is this
boards settings which are posted on top of our units in a typed stick-on
label. We may wind up changing these frequencies if our desired shift does
not coincide with the shift values that has been set in.)

1 TMS-200D AFSK Generator
(This thing creates three different panel selectable audio tone pairs to
feed to your SSB transmitter, which in turn transmits TTY signals.)

1 KOS-100 board (Marked Tempest)
(Keyboard Operated Send module - puts the unit into send mode whenever
the TU is receiving data from the local teleprinter. This thing will
function with the AFSK board to switch the TU to transmit and send the
output over the air if the SSB transmitter operates in VOX mode. Thus,
station operation is automatically shifted from receive to send when you
start typing on the keyboard.)

1 BBP-100 board
(Binary Bit Processor - has three functions: 1) High performance axis
correction 2) Selectable bandwidth 3) Hysteresis Multipath
Correction. Combined, these provide error correction to achieve very
nearly the theoretical lowest error rate.)

The features normally included in these TU's include the TSR Signal
Regeneration assembly and selectable baud rate board (SBR-100), which can
up-speed shift the signals.. Thus input at 60 WPM can drive a 100 WPM
printer just fine. We do not need 60 WPM gears for the M-28's on
receive. What to do in transmit, I don't know.

The above list does not include the station identifier feature (TID-100),
which sends your station calls or identification when triggered, or a
buffer to hold 100 (or 200 with the right board) characters received at a
faster rate than the output.
