Hi Eugene:
TTY232 and TTY232-TAP were projects from a few years ago -- about 25 folks
got these boards. TTY-Connect is the second-generation.

Yes, so it was used with heavymetal and rttyart, which send baudot.
>2. the tty232-tap is just the rs232 interface and keying/sensing circuit,

It was a tiny gizmo to "tap" into an externally-powered loop. Nobody cared.
>3. tty-connect - seems very similar to tty232 but perhaps more
>sophisticated with an additional HV loop?
Yes, I refined the design, added a second HV loop, and added a second 232
port for a TU like the tempest dovetrons many folks have.

TTY232 is no longer available, but the info is still online.

I don't currently have time for building boards (I barely have time to get
the docs finished), but you could ask on the list.

You may have the only polar machine out there. I'm not quite sure what is
involved to drive it. There are "polar relays," but I am not sure how they
connect to equipment. Jim Haynes thought the loops used +/- 30 mA (not
60). I don't know much about polar loops at all. I tried to post a
message (about ten different ways) to greenkeys about polar loops, and it
was rejected as spam -- you were CC'd on it -- did you ever see it? I
should try posting it again.
But you should see if your machine wiring can be configured for neutral
operation. It may be easy to do. After the polar input (relay?), it
simply drives a selector magnet, I presume.
