Hi Guys,
Well, the new two element vertical dipole array seems to have earned its
spurs. George, W7TTY in Washington State and I finally connected
tonight, he on CW and me on RTTY ! But the signals were strong enough
for good RTTY copy. I also got great reports from Gregory in Sacramento
(40 - 50 DB), and from Larry, W0OGH, in Arizona . Seems like even
though the band was in bad shape today, we were able to make the
distance with good signal reports.
I am shutting down the station for two weeks while I am on vacation. I
am hopeful that George, W7TTY will pick up in my absence since he now
has a station on 30 meters. I'll be back with a vengeance in two weeks.
Now I know that a cross country net on 30 meters with low power is a
practical reality, I am really looking forward to more of you getting
stations on and joining in the fun.
Pester George until he starts broadcasting again :)
Thanks to everyone for all the help and the many, many hours of
monitoring and sending signal reports. It really has made a difference
and I appreciate the help and the support. See you in 2
Best regards & 73's -- Roy, K4EEG
