Well Gil,
I have been wrong before and probably will be again. It is also
possible that Western Union used them as temporary terminals at
events. This seems likely as the case is set up to be carried from
one location to another. One of our museums M31s is like this, but
the other is on Barry Mounts and has no outer case. It also has a
military designation plate.
