This is a Model 31.  To my knowledge it was used by the U.S.A.F. and 
U.S.N. not Western Union.  The units are fairly rare.  They normally 
come with sets of gears for 60 and 75 wpm.  Some have motors for 26 
volts DC, some have motors for 115vac and some have governed motors. 
Nice little strip printer.   Similar printing mechanisms were used on 
several crypto machines over the years.
