[GreenKeys] Phishing... a relatively new scam

IMPORTANT NEWS... Also see my note at bottom

A relatively new scam, which has been given the name "Phishing" is
worth throwing up a "red flag" about. This is the process of sending
Email that purports to be from some financial institution that you
deal with (PayPal, credit card company, your bank, etc.), and that
asks you to update or verify your records. If one falls for this
trick, you will suddenly find withdrawals from your account or
charges to PayPal or your credit card! I have seen such bogus Emails
relating to both PayPal and City Bank (MasterCard) in the last few
days. (Believe me - they looked legitimate until I examined some
of the underlying links!)

The attached link is to an excellent ZDNet article which describes
the growing problem in considerable detail.

Please be warned! Pass this along to your friends, particularly
anyone who uses eBay and PayPal, or who uses a credit card to make
online purchases.

I have seen a couple of these and I am forwarding them to the
following addresses:

[email protected]

[email protected]

These companies want folks to forward any of these phishing messages
to them. Then they need to be deleted from your email.
