Yup, sure is, but I can't seem to beat the steeenkin reserve --hi--
darn, I wanted a M15 for years, also a 3/8" gummed tape printer but I
haven't been able to snag the tape printer to save my butt.... it would
complement quite a few other items in my collection, as most folks who
see the "real deal" for the first time are instantly hooked with the
sound, the hot oil smell, and the wonderful smell of the oiled paper and
tape. To be able to show them what a TELEGRAM really looked
like, and how it was produced would be icing on the cake. There is
simply no way that printing RATT (RTTY) on a computer screen can
even come close to measuring up, especially if the copying is done with
real honest live boatanchors (R-390/2, AN/BRR3, etc) and demodulated
with either my Dovetron, either of my AN/URA17's or (hopefully soon) an
AN/URA8 which, of course can be patched around as desired. Since I
already have many test generators and distortion analysers, I can go
into the whole speech about range, let them see the actual waveform on a
scope, the exact amount of distortion by several different measuring
devices, and then once I get them hooked, start them down the Greenkeyer
trail... it very rarely fails --hi--....
If anyone has a gummed tape printer out there looking for a good home, a
warm dry location, and plenty of TLC from a real live and certified
former Teletype repairman, please let this RATT junky know so that I may
bid and salivate--hi
