Jan,

I am happy that you have been successful in getting on the air. Not
being a amateur radio operator (aka HAM) I do not have the
capabilities to transmit via Radio Teletype. A No-Code license would
not allow me on the HF bands, so at some point I will have to learn
the damn MORSE code which has done nothing over the years except give
me a headache.

I am also not able to copy other HAMs as the ST-6 I have has been
damaged in transit and the one Dovetron I have here does not output
even though it shows a signal. The only working ST-6 is at our
museum 2200 miles away. Someday when George has the time I am sure
he will send me the Dovetron I ordered through his friend some time
ago. In the meantime I will have to keep happy caring for my Model
28s and using them in a local loop.

Here at my home in Illinois I have a Model 28ASR (with dome-mounted
ROTR), a 28KSR, a 28RO, and a 28ROTR, all with gear shifts installed.
I also have a UGC-74, as well as a 35ASR and a 43KSR.

On another subject I have called the Steele Rubber Company and they
are interested in reproducing the print hammers for model 32s, 33s,
and 38s. They will also look into the print hammers for the model
28, 35, and 37 reperforators. I am sending them samples and
detailed dimensions. I will keep you informed of my progress, if any.

In the mean time, if you are really hard up for a NOS 32/33/38 print
hammer, I have located a source, the price is somewhat high at
$20.00 each.

All the best...

Happy New Year

Don

P.S. What is the meaning for 599 ?
