I adjusted the ribbon shaft springs to let the tension off the ribbon.  I 
adjusted the ribbon guide bringing the ribbon closer to the paper, and then 
casting around for an adjustable rubber platen with a larger diameter than the hard 
plastic cylinder being used, I grabbed a new # 2 pencil, went to the shop, 
ground off a little of the metal holder so I could remove the eraser, cut to 
proper length and placed it in the machine.  She prints like the day she came out 
of the box at Best Buy or Circuit City!
