Well..  Lessee here.  It's just the fellers who have never used the real 
iron teletype machines are unfamiliar with the line length, number of CR 
used in the EOL sequence and other stuff we need for reliable operation of 
our machines.  The software is capable of most of the stuff we need but the 
ops aren't.  Some will listen, some don't care.  The etiquette goes both 
ways of course.  where I'm used to sending a couple of CR at the end of a 
line, the silent tty folks get two line feeds too..  And if I give 'em the 
CR CR LF that we used in the FAA, it drives 'em nuts.  (3 linefeeds) 
Soooo..  The machinery and the electronics work okay together, but the 
brains behind the keyboards need training..
