Hello everyone,
I still have to either repair or replace my HV chokes on my Collins T-440
but it has served me very well for the last 15 years. I have some photos
on my web site from a few years ago that show some of the interior
workmanship. Have a look.

I have not used this transmitter on rtty but it has FSK also
built in. I have been mostly on AM for years but cut my rtty teeth in the
Marine Corps when I managed to get into the MARS system as my
military occupation. I have plenty of rtty gear but time is alot tougher
to manage, hi hi. 73 ,

Pat and I are lucky enough to have virtually cornered the market on the
Collins T-440. We each have one and there is a third complete unit in
Minnesota.
I don't think that we know of any additional complete units still in
existence. But, we would like to know of any others that are still out
there. The
complete military nomenclature is T-440/FRT-24
If you want to see a picture of the commercial equivalent of this former
military unit, go to the CCA website and download the 1959 catalogue. It's
called a 432 D-1 commercially but looks exactly the same. AM or CW with
1500
watts output via a 4-1000A and Autotune from 3 - 30 MHz either crystal
controlled or via a master oscillator. The master oscillator itself has 25
or so
tubes. I think that it's a perfect complement to a Teletype Model 28 ASR
as they
are both built with quality from the ground up and both have stood the test
of time.
I'll forward to a RTTY QSO with you soon.

Russ
