Pat and I are lucky enough to have virtually cornered the market on the
Collins T-440. We each have one and there is a third complete unit in Minnesota.
I don't think that we know of any additional complete units still in
existence. But, we would like to know of any others that are still out there. The
complete military nomenclature is T-440/FRT-24

If you want to see a picture of the commercial equivalent of this former
military unit, go to the CCA website and download the 1959 catalogue. It's
called a 432 D-1 commercially but looks exactly the same. AM or CW with 1500
watts output via a 4-1000A and Autotune from 3 - 30 MHz either crystal
controlled or via a master oscillator. The master oscillator itself has 25 or so
tubes. I think that it's a perfect complement to a Teletype Model 28 ASR as they
are both built with quality from the ground up and both have stood the test
of time.

I'll forward to a RTTY QSO with you soon.
