Hi

A lot depends on what you have sitting in the garage. About mid day
yesterday there was a post from a regular here on the list about
hauling 20+ model 28 typing units to the dump. No way to ship them and
not enough people interested in driving over to haul them away. A lot
of this stuff gets disposed of on a "looking for a good home" basis
unless it's pretty unusual.

Electronics seems to sell better than the mechanical side. Dovetrons
for instance still seem to hold some value. Some of the fancier
military FSK demodulators sell well. Model 14's and 15's seem to drop
down to the low end of the price scale pretty fast. Model 33's seem to
do ok if you can document the fact that Bill Gates used the one you
have for sale. New in the unopened shipping crate skintight 28's also
seem to be worth a bit more than they cost to ship.

One thing that is a worry is parts. A number of people have boxes and
boxes of nice new brown envelopes with Skokie Illinois stamped on them
along with a Teletype part number. Simply inventorying all of them is
major undertaking. Finding a specific part number when you have one
break will get harder as time goes on. I'm not sure I know what the
solution to the problem is. You only want to pay for a part when you
have one break. Until then they just take up a lot of room .....

	Take Care!
