Back on July 29th John Foust asked if Teletype ever made printers with
larger font sizes. Well, they certrainly did! I Have three typeboxes
with "Large Gothic Style Pallets" as described on page 56 of Teletype
Bulletin 1169B. These pallets print characters that are .180 inches
high. These were intended for character spacing of 5, 6, or 8 characters
per inch.
"Normal" Gothic Style Pallets print capital letters that are .103"
high. Modification kit 154755 provided 5 character per inch spacing.
Mod kit 159395 provided 6 spaces per inch spacing.
Mod kit 163292 provided 8 spaces per inch spacing.
I would assume that you would probably want to double space the lines
with these fonts. I don't have the special line spacing gears but I
could certainly print out a sample of a single line of the large fonts.
Incidently these typeboxes do quite a job for printing out RTTY
pictures. It eliminates a lot of the white space between lines when
used with a normal six line per inch printer.
