Well, if you want to collect various odd teleprinters and if you don't 
have to pay very much, then it is worth adding to the collection.

There was a time when Western Union made a batch of its own teleprinters,
using Underwood typewriter parts.  I wish I knew the dates when they were
doing this, as a matter of academic curiosity.  Maybe they were trying to
save money compared to buying real Teletype machiens.  Or maybe they
didn't like spending money with Teletype since it was a Bell System
company and hence a competitor.  Anyway it's a less rugged machine than
a real Teletype, and has the annoying feature of the paper platen moves
from side to side like a typewriter, which makes it a pain to handle
roll paper.

The seller doesn't show any cover or cabinet in the picture.  Typically
these came in a big W.U. cabinet called a "post office" cabinet because
of its resemblance to a street-corner mail box.  There is also a table
top cabinet.
