[GreenKeys] Lets start testing

Opps - no RTTY on 60m and 50w ERP power limits, so forget that idea!
I think 10.133 is a good starting point. 40m is horrible, especially at night and during contests.

Hi,
Ok from ye old ARRL band plan:
3.580 to 3.620 RTTY
7.080 to 7.100 RTTY
10.130 to 10.140 RTTY
14.070 to 14.095 RTTY
from IARU region 1 band plan
3.580 to 3.620 Digimode (RTTY)
7.100 to 7.120 Digimode
10.130 to 10.140 Digimode
14.070 to 14.095 Digimode
Quick summary - ARRL and IARU don't agree on 40 meters but do agree on
the other bands.
Within the ARRL RTTY bands (rounded):
3.580 PSK DX
3.585 RTTY - FEMA
3.590 PSK - FEMA
3.590 RTTY DX
3.615 RATTS net
3.620 W2QFR net ?
7.087 RTTY FEMA
7.090 Mexican Hurricane net (LSB)
7.090 Packet - FEMA
7.095 W1AW RTTY
10.140 PSK
10.150 LSB APRS
14.070 PSK DX
14.080 RTTY DX
10.137 Hellscreiber
That's hardly a complete list, it's just what a couple of minutes of
surfing turned up. If W2QFR is still active 3.620 doesn't look like a
good option. Unless we want to operate pretty darn late at night 80
meters is pretty tough in the summer.
Forty meters is always a bit of a mess. Having SSB on the same band
segment can be a challenge for carrier based auto start. The band is
open earlier in the evening than 80 and you can at least to some
operation during the day.
How about 10.133 on 30 meters ? Thirty meters is a pretty reasonable
band for propagation except well after sunset. It's not heavily used
except for GPS tracking packet stuff (APRS *repeaters*). It's also all
digital. I also like it since you could dedicate an antenna, radio, and
a set of filters to the net. At least in theory you could operate on 40
or 20 and still monitor the net on 30. If your transmitter is crystal
controlled it's not any more difficult to set up there than on any
other band.
Take Care!
