Hi

Just had to do a quick check on five level code. LTRS is a all ones 
data sequence. That makes it the ideal code to catch a bit slip. I 
would put it at the front of any important sequence as transmitted. I 
would not make it part of the sequence as recognized. That way if there 
is a bit slip it gets caught before the sequence is received.  Of 
course if you generate it with the PIC you can send a non standard 
character to do the same thing : a "nothing" (just pause for one 
character time).
