Hi
I don't have any problem with 60 wpm operation and that seems to be the
way the crowd is leaning.
I may be in the minority, but I would vote for 170 shift. It's been a
long time since I've run anything else on the HF bands. I'm not even
sure that all of my TU's will run 850. I am sure they will all run 170.
If we keep the speed down at 45 baud we don't really need the wide
shift for speed. We are going to be running this in bands that already
have a reasonable amount of stuff going on. I suspect we will be more
welcome with a narrower shift.
With people scattered all over the country we are going to have enough
trouble getting a reasonable number of people on net all at the same
time. At least from what I have seen 170 shift *seem* to cut through
the noise a bit better than 850 shift. That may just be me and my home
made TU's though.
Just my thoughts .... I'll go which ever way the group wants to go.
Take Care!
