We were getting rebuilds from the FAA depot with the foam isntead of the
felt in the '70's. It was late in the '28 life. I think the foam didn't
like the oily atmosphere, but I've seen similar foamn products also
deteriorate in dry air. Sooo..
I don't know the configuration of you punch. Some did echo the received
traffic, some were for origininating traffic only. It look like you also
have an independemt under dome reperf that can be receiving a seperate
circuit. Lots of options there. Sounds like you came up with a winner...
I gave away one like that a few years ago. Still have my KSR only now.
Good luck, and have fun.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Model 28 ASR
I am still cleaning up my recently acquired model 28 ASR and have a
couple of questions for the list. This unit used foam sound absorbing
material inside which has badly deteriorated but I found a local supplier
who had an almost identical type material with rubber backing in stock. Is
this common for the foam to break down and I wonder what year they started
using foam instead of the cloth like material I have seen in other machines.
Also does the reperf unit punch type while you are receiving an incoming
RTTY message from someone else. I seem to recall on my model 19 the reperf
only worked with keyboard when you were typing.
Lastly my unit has a second (aux) reperf in it has anyone had experience
hooking these up.
Thank You
