Thanks to a few people on a couple of the web lists I have been able to
locate the critical parts I need to build a Mainline TT/L-2. I started
work on the chassis so before long should have a few pictures of the
results almost 45 years after it was designed. hi
While researching the Mainline I had the pleasure of re-reading many old
articles on the limiterless two-tone TU and what really turned me on was
an article in RTTY Journal Jan 64 by K6IBE. He does an excellent job
of explaining the slide-back and included drawings of the effect on wide
and narrow filters. I had seen with a scope what he had drawn but
never really understood why until I read the article.
So when the mainline is done I will try K6IBE's Model TU-D. I enjoy
digging out micro power signals using digital DSP so think maybe it can
also be fun to perhaps see what I can dig out in the way of weak RTTY
signals with a old tube design but applying some of today's technology.
