I would like to hear from a member that knows his/her way around a Model 32
or 33.
I just replaced the spacing ratchet in my 32 and only loosened a minimum of
parts to get the spacing drum pulled out from the top. After getting it back
together, it works just find at typing figures and puntuation, however it
will not change over to letters. I can see nothing out of place and it has
to be somthing simple if I knew where to look.
My machine has automatic caridge return and linefeed. I find that if you are
copying a station that is computer generated and they don't have enough
sense to send CR LF, when the end of line is reached and automatically
returns and the caridge is not all the way back and the next caracter is
sent, the 32/33 will violently stop and print this caracter and after this
happens a few times it takes a tooth off the spacing ratchet. I will no
longer use it to copy rtty where the operator knows not what he is doing.
Anyway, if someone could point me in the right direction as what to look for
I would appreciate it. I do have all the manuals for this machine.

P.S. I stuck a small rubber bumper that I took off the bottom of a computer
keyboard on the print hammer 4 rolls of paper ago and it is still fine.
Didn't even glue it on as it was a little sticky.
Also some months back there was a discusion about putting eyelets in ribbons
that didn't have them. I ended up with several ribbons without eylets and
find that all you have to do is make a knot in the ribbon about where the
eyelet should be. Works just fine and reverses the ribbon every time.
