Henry,
I once had a 28ASR setup with a stuntbox that controlled the
auxiliary reperf and also flip-flopped control between
a two headed TD configuration. It would read the codes from the
tapes going through the TD and shut off one and start the
oher..used it for "brag tapes" and so on. The reperf control
was a simple sequence of characters, something like
LTRS-BLANK-ON to turn on the reperf and LTRS-BLANK-OFF to turn
it off. Actually, the reperf was always "on", the contact in the
stuntbox would enable the contacts of a polar relay that
followed the main loop and keyed a loop dedicated to the
reperf. I have the same setup in my current ASR, but use
a toggle switch instead of the stuntbox (...someday).
I am planning to build a 28 sequence selector, which is a
28 typing unit that is not much more than the stuntbox.
There's nothing on the frontplate for the typing function.
I'm going to set up my TTY's so they can be controlled
by the sequence selector.
