One of the other sources, if you can find them or happen to have a stash
of them, is ribbons for the Dataspeed 40 printers. Yep, they are in
larger reels but you can fill up almost 3 of the smaller spools for the
28's from one of these large ones from the Dataspeed 40's.

Wife bought me a tool and some eyelets so i've been able to utilize some
older style ribbons on spools for the 28. Not a hard job to do at all.
Only thing is to wind the ribbon from one big reel to a smaller one.

Some of you may remember eons ago, or at least my gransparents did,
splice their 8mm film if it took a notion to break. They had a
reel-to-reel winder (hand cranked of course) set up on a board. The
cranked the film from one end towards the other till they came up on the
break, then they repaired it and then cranked the film back to the
original reel so it would be ready to go next time we wanted to watch
it. Love them old time movies. Anyway, the point is if someone could
find apparatus like taht, there would be an easy way to do thingw with
ribbon on reels.

Matter of factly i picked up a ribbon reinker that is mounted on a board
similar to what we're talking about. After all, 25-30 years after the
mfgr of these ribbons, the ink is kinda dried and print gets hard to
read real quick.
