Hello Steve,

Just before the BOOM in Internet banking, there was a temporary
service offered by many banks (other companies tried it for a
consumer order entry system)... It was called DISPLAY PHONE. Several
different manufacturers made expensive phones for the system which
was standardized by Bellcore. Since it was a text only system most
people opted to use a touch-tone entry with voice response system
instead (much less expensive). When the mass entry onto the Internet
started it killed off all of the display phone business.

This unit belongs in our museum. I am bidding on it. We have one
other example made by Northern Telecom. This unit was made by the
last vestige of AT&T Teletype Corporation in Singapore along with the
478, 5320 and 5320 terminal printers.

If you or your friends run into any of the first generation Western
Electric DataPhones or one of the WECO Transaction Telephones (POS
terminal) please let me know right away.

Best regards,

Don
