I'm not sure what kind of Dovetron you guys are getting/using but,  I =
just hit the 'stock' preload switch on mine, type in whatever message I =
want, and then flip the switch to recirculate, and it runs forever in =
the local loop.   Great for testing the teletype, etc...

You don't need a extra buffer to load in an outside rs232toCurrent =
convertor.  The stock Dovetron works fine...

Having the ability to transmit the "quick brown fox ..." message and a =

of RYRY would be nice for bench testing TTY machines.  I would certainly =

like to see that.  Being able to transmit with various levels of =
distortion=20
is not so important now that most tty keying circuits no longer use =
polar=20
relays.  It could be done but would greatly complicate the design as it=20
would require variable timing for each of the data bits and their =
position=20
within their windows as defined by the start pulse and the stop pulse.  =

my opinion, not worth the trouble.
