GreenKeyers - - -

I sure pulled a big one today!!!

I neglected to put BILL BYTHEWAY's name on the list of the Board of
Directors of NASDAW...

Bill has also devoted a whole pile of hours in the past on the RTTY
Transmission effort.

Bill wrote the software which was used for literally every RTTY
transmission run we ever did. He is a genius when it comes to new and
different software.

His latest effort has been a piece of satellite tracking software that
will simultaneously display in real time the tracks of over 5000
satellites! Makes a photo of the earth look like a giant ball of string
if you get enough orbital data into the program..

It will also draw a line from your QTH to the satellite of your choice
when the satellite pops over the horizon and is in "radio view" of your
station.

Anyway, from humble 'ol me to Bill, a big APOLOGY as well as a big THANK
YOU.

Bill has also developed PSK31-16, which will allow up to 16 PSK31 channels
to be generated with a single sound card. Each channel is remotely
accessible from anywhere in the world utilizing a telnet session to the
right port on the computer feeding a sideband transmitter.

If we get the Widecast Service off the ground, there is a rule written
which if adopted will allow experimentation with new modes. You can bet
that PSK31-16 will be something that we will groom and add to the modes we
hope to be able to use.

Another thing I should mention is that as an added incentive to those who
might be interested in becoming a widecaster, I have four Harris RF-230
sideband transceivers that will be available no charge to the first four
who manage to get an authorization, for use as exciters for their
stations.

We are also going into antenna modeling as a way of assisting would-be
widecasters resolve just how their antenna arrangements will perform.

Yeah, maybe I'm just dreamin', and maybe the Feds will shoot this whole
concept in the butt. Frank Sinatra once sang a song about an ant and a
rubber tree plant. Like the ant, I got "High Hopes"..

G'night to all & 73,

George, W7KSJ
