I guess I can't pass up the door Jack Hart opened for me the other day.
I finally did get my Tech. License (KC2lTX), I got tired of being asked
if I was a Ham, so I had to do something about that!
I would like to thank Jack, Gil, and (John, cryptic) for the welcome, and
all of the
other members who I have learned much from in this past year, been listening
for that long to all of you with all your good advice and experience that
could not be bought in any store for any price.
Gil you actually contacted me a year ago to join GK's which I never heard
of.
I think it was a E-bay transaction on a mod 15 that you were watching. Glade
you did.
Jack has been indispensable with knowledge and hardware.
I have been fooling with this mechanical stuff for most of my life. I lost
interest and most of my collection 25 years ago, my father worked at RCA
transmitting sta. Rocky Pt. until it closed, so I had it all. Its all been
coming back to me this past year and I will be online with when I get my
General
shortly.
I am honored to be a member of this group!

P.S.
My favorite cleaner is "brake kleen", for most work and the really tough
stuff
Carburetor cleaner (2+2 trade name) it will dissolve anything. Both are
sprays
and available in auto parts stores. I happen to be a Fire truck mechanic so
teleprinters are kept in running shape by things from this industry.
