I've come across a couple of old (!) tools for adjusting.... something.
I don't know what. They were in the back of a drawer of stuff that I
'rescued' from the FAA teletype shop here in Miami some years ago. I'll
try to describe them.
Both are scales (as in weight or pull.) they are both on steel plates 3
3/4" x 1", Both bear the manufacturers impression "Chatillon-NY-USA"
ISO Gauge. One has a range of 0 - 4, (ounces I presume) and has a
'Reproducer', SS270 impression. The other has a range of 4 - 8, (again,
ounces I think) and 'Recorder' , 46269...
The right end of the arm of the leaf spring is anchored. and the left
end has a hole for a string/thread in it and moves over the range
markings... I'm confused too.
If anyone knows what these are, and more especially wishes to possess
the same, Please advise me and I'll ship 'em to you.. Don't all rush
at once. First response that shows a desire for them wins....
May the best.. er.. enthusiast 'win'.
