Concerning my earlier post of a missing Model 28 type box on a machine I
bought off of GreenKeys, I wanted to add some clarification:
I don't think anyone deliberately tried to misrepresent the machine. The
machine was from the estate of a deceased ham. A radio club was attempting
to help the widow by selling off her deceased husbands equipment. The
machine supposedly had been removed from working service. I bought it
without the cabinet which had been junked. I am sure that somewhere in the
disassembly process, it was just misplaced.
The Ham Club offered to refund my money upon return of the machine. But
since this was from the estate of a deceased ham, I decided to just let it
go. I hope one of these days when I become a silent key, someone is so
nice to help my wife with disposing of my ham gear. The individual I dealt
with was as sincere as he could be and was very concerned over all of this.
I have no quarrel with those involved. I believe it was just a simple
oversight. If I don't find another type box, it will make a good "parts"
machine.
