OK, that looks like a rather unreliable way to interface to a typewriter.
The soldering
looks shaky, and I am not sure that the switch contacts he
fabricated would hold up either.
I wonder what the most reliable way to do it would be. Could you make up a
PC board with
proximity detectors (magnetic or optical) laid out beneath the levers?
