Bill,
If it is a TELEX machine, you only need to supply
loop current as Don mentioned. But, it is polarity
sensitive. When you have it right, turning the dial will
lock up the machine and it will follow signals on the
loop. My Western Union TELEX 32ASR works that way with
no other modifications made. Don't forget, too, that the machine
is 66wpm and it might give you a little trouble if you
try to copy 60 wpm RTTY.
