I especially like the "remove the rx diddle" idea. I have heard a lot of the arguments for diddle, but the only convincing (to me) one is the flywheel algorithm. I could see where this just might be beneficial in that case. Otherwise, I think it's all malarkey.

The SELCAL feature is going to be fun if we can get a group to use it. I leave my radio on all the time anyway.

Doesn't "REGEN" take the received character mark/space pulses and put them back to perfect timing, effectively "regenerating" the pulse string? My Dovetron, with regen on, has a slight delay between character received and character typed. I am assuming the regen is responsible. I don't have a manual for my Dovetron yet so I'm guessing.
