Yup it's the same EF Johnson as we hams know about. They still had a bunch
of hams working there in the 1980's. A lot of what they built went into the
Airphone system. As you notice from the Western Union information they had a
common parent at the time. Once they spun off the Airphone stuff went over
to Magnavox and Johnson more or less vanished.

Speaking of vanished companies - remember Herters? They sold all kinds of
neat outdoor stuff back in the 60's and 70's. Sort of like LL Bean only
without the yuppie stuff. The old Herters warehouses were in the back of the
EF Johnson parking lot. You could pick up a pretty good assortment of
fishing hooks back there in no time at all ....
