I just bought a purple point-of-sale machine ribbon at my local Office
Max. It comes on really tiny spools (maybe an inch in dia.) but the ribbon
is 1/2" wide and 19.5" ft long; no problem to spool off onto a full-size
teletype spool. Only thing is there are no rivets on the ribbon ends to
trip the ribbon reversing mechanism. If you have a small pop rivet tool
you can probably add that yourself. I don't. I bought it because I needed
a ribbon for the typing reperf in my 28ASR and it was the only thing that
Office Max had in a 1/2" ribbon and I had a big paper tape punch project to
do, so I just watch the spools when I am punching tape and hit the
reversing lever myself at the right time.

The ribbon is a Royal #013090 Cash Register Ribbon.

Have fun.
