I just thought I would refile this message in the hopes that someone
has a few of these items on my "wish list" to fix the model 28 ASR and Mite.
I ESPECIALLY need the mite manual and the gearset (just the 100 WPM
pinion will do (It's a plastic gear.) Photocopies of the manual are
acceptable.
Walt Tretz: Chief, If you still have the "guts" of that 28 crated up,
let me know if you do, and I will get the money to you.. I really have
to get off my @$$ and get started restoring this stuff.
John Martin: If you have the manual, I need a few more pages describing
the input connector and the adaptor for the 120V line, with the signal
breakout box in between, as well as the info on the fuse panel in the rear.

GM Don
I am in desperate need of a 3 speed shift for an M28ASR, a Typing
Perforator for same, a Typing Reperf for same,
the copy light lens, and a loop supply, preferably both, with
harnesses, a local/line select switch, the handle for same, the
escutcheon plate with the reperf tape exit chute and the other hdwe for
the typing reperf including any needed mount brackets, and the tape reel
assembly. I am changing a bare bones unit into Naval livery -hi-. I need
a couple (5-6 ) polar relays, the line select relay, I need at least
the standard polar relay for the 28ASR, a polar relay for an M14 ROTR,
and the rest of the polar relays can be "generic" I don't care what
vintage, as they are for for experimental use. A spare 28ASR printer
would not go unappreciated either.
I also would like to borrow the manual for a Mite, or obtain a copy from
you.I also need the drive gear (the plastic one) for 100 WPM, the one I
have is 60, I am not sure if they have to be replaced as a pair (the
plastic gear drives another, and both are easily removable. What would
be of more immediate need is a pinout drawing, and the drawing for the
input adaptor which includes the breakout box, and the AC line plug. I
would also appreciate a drawing of the jumper layout in the rear, as I
simply cannot get this bird in local mode, it stubbornly runs open all
the time, regardless of what I try.
If you have a couple of audio patch panels around (the one rack unit or
two rack unit kind)
As a final thought, I would like to obtain a Teletype test unit (Fox
Box) vintage is of no concern as long as it will function at 60&100 wpm,
as well as a distortion analyzer ye old crt type is fine LOL
Ok, that's my wish list. Besides good ol usa money, I will supply you
with the nontyping perf, the removed speed gearing from the 28ASR that I
am replacing with the 3 speed unit.
I have no doubt that I am going to think of other things, but that's all
my brain can handle at 0323R.
