Hi Scott,
I took the day off today. I have a cold and the work at the museum
is tiring... Up and down three flights of stairs. Yes, the Model
4320 KSR was, and is, quite popular. The 4310 RO was not. The 4350
paper tape reader/punch unit was a response to customer demand. The
reader punch found it's home in the Numerical Control industry,
controlling machinery for manufacturing and testing. Some are still
in use today.
The rarest of these table top machines are the Model 4220 KSR and
4250 Reader/Punch unit. These machines look the same but are
designed to operate with 5 level Baudot (ITA2) coding. I had a
contact at one time that had some of these machines (Michael Roberts,
formerly of American Satellite) but he disappeared off e-mail and I
lost his telephone number.
I have the full size Bell System Practices on the Model 43 product
line. When I get a chance I will try to make copies for you. I may
also have an extra copy of the thick complete mini-manual for the
equipment but it will take more searching.
Best regards,
Don
>Thanks very much Don. Sounds like we have the same small manuals
>for the reader/punch but we are missing the elusive full service manual.
>Please do let me know if you happen across it ...

>Any idea how many 43's actually sold with the optional punch/reader?
>I don't see or hear about too many of the ptp's ...but I do see the 43
>printer unit quite a bit still ...
