Sounds like the Friden Flexowriter I had about 25 years ago. There was a 
pause code you could put onto the tape that stopped the reader until you 
hit the tape key again. I punched my resume on that machine and sent out 
several dozen customized copies one year. I never did find a schematic for 
the computer interface connector. IIRC, I had to throw it out due to lack 
of space after our youngest son was born in '81. It was a little rusty on 
the bottom, but still worked.
