That is exactly how it was set up, and operated.
It was simply a plug-in appliance, power line in, phone line
in and loop current out. I don't have any literature
on the Lenkurt system, but I am thinking that it was
the standard 16 channel tone layout. Inside the box is
a circuit card with a filter unit. That filter determined
the "channel" that it was set up for.
