Hi Don,
I recall seeing an article which described the use of a pair of RK-65s, =
in a GG linear amp. They were used in a triode connected configuration, i=
n that particular article. I also recall seeing a pair of them used in a =
so called class C linear amplifier circuit. I believe that they were used=
in the tetrode configuration, in that article. Unfortunately, I can't re=
member where these articles were published. I
have stumbled across the latter article, on someones web page, so a searc=
h may find it.
I know of no similar tube, made by another manufacturer. As I recall,
these bottles were also used for radar (pulse) service.
I once had a single RK-65, and I constructed a GG PA around it. The amp =
worked great, but the tube was subsequently broken, in an accident. I was=
 one extremely unhappy guy!

s push-pull RK-65 tubes and a large B&W "CX" type tank assembly. The CX t=
ank mounts a B&W "HD" jackbar for plug-in final coils with a swinging lin=
k to pick up the output. It also has a set of clips for adding a fixed va=
cuum capacitor and bolt-on plates that are used for neutralization on eac=
h side. It's a pretty impressive piece of equipment, circa 1950.

Has anyone seen any published circuits using RK-65s? Does that tube have=
any equivalent types by other manufacturers? Has anyone seen a good su=
mmary anywhere of the Raytheon line of RK-series tubes? I can't see any r=
hyme or reason in their numbering system. And finally, does anyone have a=
ny RK-65's for sale or trade? I'd be interested in picking up a couple fo=
r spares.
