FOR SALE: All the H's--Homebrew, Hickok and Heathkit
Homebrew 1-transistor transmitter. This is in a small 5x7 black wrinkle =
box with a meter, toggle switch, octal socket (for crystal) on the front =
and an SO-239 and binding posts on the back. The binding posts are for 6 =
to 9vDC. For 40 and 80 meters is what the original builder told me. I =
have not tested this and don't know what transistor is inside. $21
Homebrew 1-tube novice transmitter on wooden base with masonite front =
panel. It has a meter, knob, key jack and binding posts on the panel. =
The transmitter is crystal-controlled with a tube socket used for =
crystal holding. The lone tube is an 802. It uses a plug-in coil and =
there is one installed for 80 meters--a standard B&W 5-pin based coil. =
The variable cap looks salvaged from a receiver. The meter is =
disconnected and looks salvaged from a battery charger. Power =
connections are via terminal strip on the rear (no power supply is =
included). The remaining components are the usual mica transmitting caps =
and an RF choke or 2. Overall, the parts used seem like quality stuff. =
But this thing has sloppy, haywire construction throughout. Untested. =
As-is. $17
Homebrew VHF transmitter. This is in a 5x7 gray hammertoe "bud-box". =
Construction is meticulous and first-rate in every respect. It is =
crystal-controlled for AM and CW. The tube lineup is 12AU7, 12AT7, 6AQ5A =
and 5763. The crystal in the front-mounted crystal-socket is 8375 kc. =
Connection to a power supply is provided by an octal plug. No power =
supply is included. Output is via an RCA jack. There is a separate =
homebrew band-pass filter that goes with the rig and plugs into the RCA =
jack. Very nice. $19
Hickok 539C tube tester. If not the best, certainly one of the best tube =
testers ever made. From the later, high-end of the Hickok line. The =
leatherette case has some rips and dings but is over all good and can =
probably be restored to excellent by someone who knows what they are =
doing. The panel is dirty but all the controls work crisply and the =
meters are original and working fine. There are socket savers on the =
octal and 7-pin miniature sockets. I have tested this and believe it to =
be working well. This unit has more testing options than most testers =
you will see--like the ability to kook in an outboard filament =
transformer for high-current draw tubes, adjustable bias voltage, etc. =
$325
Heathkit IT-28 capacitor checker (bridge). This unit is in the later =
Heath brown color scheme and looks very good or excellent. It uses and =
eye tube and must've been Heath's answer to the Sprague TO-series of cap =
checkers. Working well. With test leads and original manual. $28
Bud Rack: 6 feet 10.5 inches tall, black wrinkle steel rack , empty. =
With some scratches but in quite nice condition overall. Threaded screw =
holes for mounting standard 19" rack panels. Vintage estimated 1950. $10 =
pick-up only in Pittsburgh, PA.
Thanks for looking.
