In the Bell System, the longest running Teletype model was the 15 / 
19...  From the late 30s through the early 60s.  In the news services 
the Model 15 kept right on going through 1970.  However the Model 28 
debuted in 1954 and was still running at some companies until about 
1976.  ASCII took over data communications starting in 1964 and is 
still going strong today.  The years 1962 to 1973 had a lot of 
overlap of different machines.  I worked on everything from model 14s 
through Model 37s in those years, not to mention paper tape Dataspeed.
