Sorry this is about 24 hours late, but I had another matter to attend to
last evening which kept me out later than planned.
I visited the location of the machines currently on ebay being auctioned
by Stardust13.
There is a veritable plethora of equipment, and it is all "Good Stuff"...
I will begin by some comments on the three items currently on ebay.
The 28ASR Herken Monster Cabinet is rather exceptional. It has the
original teletype/bell green semi-gloss mottled finish. The paint is in
excellent condition. The cabinet itself is perhaps one of the last
produced, due to the fact that it is lined with that gawd-awful foam that
sublimes at the hint of oil vapor. The foam is intact, and it does not go
into self-destruct when you poke your finger in it. You'll have to travel
a ways to find a nicer example of a pretty much pristine cabinet. The one
drawback is that it has a Western Union LESU in it. I could be talked into
donating a genuine TTY Corp LESU to a GreenKey purchaser.
Item 3, the 28ASR Keyboard, I feel is out of the cabinet discussed above.
The character counter is like new. The perforator is non-typing. Overall
it is essentially a new keyboard with just a bit of dust on it.
Item 2, the 28 Keyboard Typing Reperf is in very good condition. It is
single speed, and I believe it to be geared for 60 WPM, but did not light
it off to check. A nice example, indeed.
Good news is that there is a second one which is in about the same
condition.
Now, the list of what is there, and a brief comment after each item...

There is some amateur gear as well, but I will hold off on that until I
have a better feel for the going prices on it.
I have volunteered to pack for shipment any item sought after by a
GreenKeyer, as I feel obligated to see that the owner will be treated well
by anyone purchasing any of this equipment, particularly a GreenKeyer. My
services are quite reasonable, but you will have to pay the shipping, and
the cost of any materials needed to build a bullet-proof crate. Jack Hart
can attest to the fact that items coming from KSJ Laboratories get there
in good shape.
I will also be heading down to the San Francisco Bay Area over Easter, and
will have some space available for hauling things as far as Sacramento or
San Jose.
Should any of the gear be destined that direction, I will haul it.
I have not mentioned prices. It is difficult to asses a value to TTY gear,
because all too often people are glad to be rid of it for just hauling it
away, and as we all know, beauty and value are in the eye of the beholder.
I do feel that the machines in this lot are well above the norm. The gear
deserves to go to a worthy new home or homes. If you want to start your
own TTY Museum, this is a collection which will launch you on your way
with verve.
You can call me at 253-833-6755 if you want to know anything more about
it, and I will gladly submit all reasonable offers to the owner.
