We are new to your list. We are a member of the TCI and ATCA as well as a
member of Switcher's Quarterly. These clubs are for telephone collectors and
SQ is for Central Office telephone equipment. With that out of the way, I
wanted to let you know that in our Museum's archives, we have my old
collection of Teletype manuals. Most of these manuals date back to the
1930's and '40s.
I just did a rough inventory. There are about 13 of the large leatherette
covered Teletype manuals, some War Dept. bound Technical Manuals and a
number of handbook sized BSPs. I don't know if this is something of
interest to any of you. If there is something that you need from these, let
me know and I'll see if I can get it copied. It's been about 30 years since
I last worked of Teletypes on the UPI lease. We are located on highway 101,
almost half-way between L.A. and S.F.. We do have a few machines stuck in
some of the warehouses. If I can find them, we have several boxes of the
most common replacement parts for the model 15 era. We are not ready just
yet but one of our goals is to interface a computer with some of our 5-level
(Baudot) and 6-level machines (typesetter) in our newspaper and radio
station displays.
I would like to simulate the newswire traffic for our visitors on December
7th and similar anniversaries. Anyway, if there is something we can do for
you, please let me know.
Thanks-
Steve Cichorsky
