[GreenKeys] Model 28 lamps

Oddly enough, after our recent discussion abou the lightbulbs in the
Model 28, I began working on one of the "warehouse" units today.
It is a brand new Model 28 cabinet, seemingly one of the earlier
types with the shelf underneath, like a Model 15 table, versus the
fully enclosed base with the large door. The other giveaway is that
there are three screw-type barrier strips along the back versus the
two on a later model cabinet. The transformer for the lamps is
mounted on the left hinge and the "ON/OFF/MAINT." switch is
on the left top of the LESU. This cabinet configuration is most
associated with the 28's used by the Navy. I have two gray
versions of the same cabinet. This cabinet
has a beautiful green wrinkle finish and, except for some handling
scuffs, looks new. It didn't have a keyboard/typing unit in it, either.

Anyway, I had to do some wiring fixes and when it came time
to "light it up", I got nothing. Well, it seems someone put 110VAC
bulbs in the copy/margin light sockets!! After replacing them with the
6VAC types, all was well. While the cabinet was obvioulsy never used,
the LESU must have been put in later. To top it off, there was no
power to the motor. There was an open lead in the LESU which
would have normally gone through the "Motor control" relay
assembly. Maybe that's why the cabinet was never used...?

I think it might have already been mentioned, but another use for
the "extra" lamps on the 28 would be to indicate an open line. This
would be done by using the stuntbox to operate a switch after
seeing a series of "blanks", which would equate to the printer
seeing an open line.
