I have a model 28 teletype, and I am having trouble figuring out the bulb
voltages
for the bulbs in the cover lid.
There are two bulbs for the copy lights that shine onto the paper. These
are 6 volts
I believe. However, there is another light which I guess is wired to the margin
switch, and when I placed a 6V bulb in there it blew out. So I guess this
is a 120 V or
something socket. On this teletype I don't think it was wired to the
margin switch, but I'm not exactly sure where the wiring
goes at the moment, I need to trace it out.
But the question is, is this mis-wired, or is it supposed to be
high voltage that way? It has the same sized bayonet socket as the copy lights.
