Agreed, our small group here down-under has 17 members at present
count, most are not hams, are not internet-connected, do not own
HF radios so do not receive signals off air but all own and use
teleprinters to communicate on a dial-up service similar to telex,
using modems and the PSTN to keep our machines working as they
were intended. Competition on national phone rates are in our
favour, we just enjoy punching slip and discussing on dial-up
point-to-point circuits our favourite hobby - teleprinters.
Realising this topic is about the WC2XPF submission but just to
keep the list informed how others broaden the hobby.
