To all-

The Dovetron website is gone. There is a message something
'bout being suspended and to contact the administrator. Alas,
I'm sure the financial burdens forced Dovetron to succumb!

I think I have pieced enough information from several of you
to be able to patch the Dovetron (which is a Tempest model)
to my PC. I also think I have figured out that it's probably not
designed to work with "real" metal RTTY units, but that it's
possible to -make- it work with some effort (because it has
no loop in or out power supply and/or associated circuitry).

I remember a few years back I did contact the owner of the
Dovetron company, but just didn't go through with the purchase
of the manual. My fault! But it would not have been for the
Tempest model and it would have been sold with the old
unit (that I never could figure out) anyhow.

What software would the list recommend to use to get
the thing up and working? I might get this thing working in the
next few days- just have to break out some coax and BNC
connectors (UGH!). Or maybe I'll just buy some pre-made
jumpers and cut 'em in two.... :-)

If you guys don't think I'll burn up the PC's COM port by
connecting the Dovetron directly to it (which was my biggest
concern) then I may get it up and running, at least for receiving,
today or tomorrow.

Thanks, -Web
